Wear Law of the Excavator Track Shoes

During normal operation, the track pin slowly rotates backwards in the pin hole, and the two wear evenly, the pin hole gradually becomes larger, and the pin is tapered. If the operation is not proper, such as high-speed cornering, slamming, or entering the mud, weeds, etc., the pins will be crushed, causing the left and right sides of the track shoes to be over-pressed and bent downwards. The pins are deformed and bent, and cannot be bent in the pin holes. When the rotation, the pin and the pin hole become sliding friction, and the friction portion is limited to a small portion of the contact surface, the pin is gradually ground into a curved shape, and the pin hole also becomes an elliptical shape. The increase of the pin hole causes the track pitch to be lengthened, so that the track shoe and the driving wheel are honed together, the track plate is worn through, and the driving wheel teeth are blade-shaped.

As the track plate pitch is elongated, it also causes the roller to jump during walking, which accelerates the wear of the track shoe portion. The wear of the track portion of the track shoe is mainly caused by the deviation of the track, the severe deformation of the track shoe, and the excessive axial sway of the roller and the guide wheel.
